Surah 92: 1                 وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى

And, the underlying darkness, when it is covered and concealed -

92:1 Witness is the Night as it cloaks in darkness.

92:1 By the night as it covers.

92:1 By the night enshrouding

92:1 By the Night as it conceals (the light);

92:1 CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness,

92:1 By the night when it covers.

Surah 92: 2                 وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّى

- by the bright light; when everything becomes clear, evident and apparent.

92:2 And the Day as it shines in splendor.

92:2 The day as it reveals.

92:2 And the day resplendent

92:2 By the Day as it appears in glory;

92:2 and the day as it rises bright!

92:2 And the day when it appears.

Surah 92: 3                   وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَى

So what is unhurried in reason, and proportioned as the residuum connected to it, as you are with truth being dependent on fact, this fact is dependent on the residuum.

92:3 Witness is creation of the male and the female.

92:3 And Him who created the male and the female.

92:3 And Him Who hath created male and female,

92:3By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;-

92:3 Consider the creation of the male and the female!

92:3 And He created the male and female.

Surah 92: 4                        إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّى

Truly, you continue not to find the right way to accomplish your affairs, as well as a lack of power and strength to perform actions thoroughly. Like the state of the union of people becoming broken, disordered, deranged and unsettled.

92:4 Indeed, your efforts are diverse.

92:4 Your works are of various kinds.

92:4 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends).

92:4 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse.

92:4 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends!

92:4 Your works are various.

Surah 92: 5                        فَأَمَّا مَن أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى

As for those endowed with reason and logic, take my advice, remain careful of it, so guard it well.

92:5 And so, he who gives and remains watchful against wrong.

92:5 As for him who gives to charity and maintains righteousness.

92:5 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah)

92:5 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah),

92:5 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God,

92:5 As for he who gives and is righteous.

Surah 92: 6                        وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى

And those who turned away, avoiding and abandoning reason and logic. They become little in estimation, inconsiderable, mean and contemptible. Become sensible by the use of all your senses provided through me.

92:6 And makes his life an example of benevolence,

92:6 And upholds the scripture.

92:6 And believeth in goodness;

92:6 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,-

92:6 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good

92:6 And trusts in goodness.

Surah 92: 7                        فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى

As a consequence, we will in future make it easy for you, with this standard and banner. (Note : alkitab - means: standard and banner).

92:7 We will ease his way to the ultimate ease.

92:7 We will direct him towards happiness.

92:7 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease.

92:7 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss.

92:7 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease.

92:7 We will make the easy path for him.

Surah 92: 8                        وَأَمَّا مَن بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى

As for those endowed with reason and logic, becoming niggardly, stingy, opinionated and greedy for wealth. How miserable and weary a future for ones in a state free from wants and need, then lost due to that avariciousness.

92:8 But he who withholds and considers himself self-sufficient,

92:8 But he who is stingy, though he is rich.

92:8 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent,

92:8 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient,

92:8 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient,

92:8 And as for he who is stingy and holds back.

Surah 92: 9                        وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَى

And they became rough and hard like a stone, cast away. Occupy your senses provided through me, to perceive truth and become sensible.

92:9 And denies all that is good.

92:9 And disbelieves in the scripture.

92:9 And disbelieveth in goodness;

92:9 And gives the lie to the best,-

92:9 and calls the ultimate good a lie –

92:9 And denies goodness.

Surah 92: 10                        فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَى

So in future, for our guidance to be easy for you to understand, be with those who go about investigating this banner and standard. 

92:10 We will ease his way to hardship.

92:10 We will direct him towards misery.

92:10 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity.

92:10 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery;

92:10 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship:

92:10 We will make the difficult path for him.

Surah 92: 11                       وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّى

And what is a state of mental competence and sufficiency provided through the One; but to increase considerably understanding, you should hasten to return back and revert to a clean state of mind.

92:11 And what could his wealth avail when he himself falls!

92:11 His money cannot help him when he falls.

92:11 His riches will not save him when he perisheth.

92:11 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit).-

92:11 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]?

92:11 And his wealth will not avail him when he demises.

Surah 92: 12                        إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَى

Truly, by way of us, are assigned qualities, as a result rests the right way, and manner of conduct.

92:12 Certainly, it is for Us to show you the way (through this revelation).

92:12 We provide the guidance.

92:12 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance

92:12 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide,

92:12 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance;

92:12 It is upon Us to guide.

Surah 92: 13            وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَى            

And truthfully, to us, is for you, the return and end, just like those ones who were before you.

92:13 To Us belongs the End and the Beginning.

92:13 We control the Hereafter, as well as this life.

92:13 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former.

92:13 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning.

92:13 and, behold, Ours is [the dominion over] the life to come as well as [over] this earlier part [of your life]:

92:13 And to Us is the end and the beginning.

Surah 92: 14                        فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّى

As a consequence, I am informing, and putting you on guard, in my communication. You should come by yourselves to the light, applying yourselves to it perseveringly, constantly and assiduously.

92:14 And so I warn you of a raging fire.

92:14 I have warned you about the blazing Hellfire.

92:14 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire

92:14 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely;

92:14 and so I warn you of the raging fire -

92:14 I have warned you of a Fire that blazes.

Surah 92: 15                        لَا يَصْلَاهَا إِلَّا الْأَشْقَى

Being neither cunning, nor crafty, nor abominable in contention, nor sleepy and inadvertent. These qualities remove the most un-prosperous, fatigued and unfortunate.

92:15 That only the most wicked must endure.

92:15 None burns therein except the wicked.

92:15 Which only the most wretched must endure,

92:15 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones

92:15 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch

92:15 None shall reach it but the wicked.

Surah 92: 16                       الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى

What! Illumination became too hard; so you repelled and turned away from it.

92:16 He who denies and turns away.

92:16 Who disbelieves and turns away.

92:16 He who denieth and turneth away.

92:16 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs.

92:16 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it].

92:16 The one who denies and turns away.

Surah 92: 17                        وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى

And you veiled and concealed it from all the senses. Every piece of information, intelligence, and communication of the ultimate guard and security.

92:17 But far removed from it is he who guards against error.

92:17 Avoiding it will be the righteous.

92:17 Far removed from it will be the righteous

92:17 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,-

92:17 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God:

92:17 As for the righteous, he will be spared it.

Surah 92: 18                        الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّى

Such ones who want to multiply, increase, augment and produce fruit, they should enter and engage in scholarship.

92:18 Who gives his wealth that he may grow in goodness.

92:18 Who gives from his money to charity.

92:18 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness),

92:18 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification,

92:18 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity

92:18 The one who gives his money to develop with.

Surah 92: 19                        وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَى

Without having to be in the companionship of the One and only. They decline and deviate from the right course, the one that was right and just, when their among bounty and blessings; coming to the end, and perishing, their divided into parts or portion.

92:19 Not that he is returning any favors.

92:19 Seeking nothing in return.

92:19 And none hath with him any favor for reward,

92:19 And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return,

92:19 not as payment for favours received,

92:19 Seeking nothing in return.

Surah 92: 20                      إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَى

Except for those who do something immediately, and prepare themselves for the journey, with the brightness of intellect, and favour of their Sustainer, Maintainer and Fosterer; the most elevated, high and lofty.

92:20 But only to seek the Approval of his Lord, the Most High.

92:20Seeking only his Lord, the Most High.

92:20 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High.

92:20 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High;

92:20 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest:

92:20 Except the face of His Lord, the Most High.

Surah 92: 21                       وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَى

And for this what shall you do, for the One to be pleased and satisfied, and to regard you with good will and favour.

92:21 And soon he will be pleased.

92:21 He will certainly attain salvation.

92:21 He verily will be content.

92:21 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction.

92:21 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased.

92:21 And he will be satisfied.
