Surah 114:1             قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ

114:1 Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of the people.

114:1 Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,

114:1 Say: I seek refuge with the Lord and Cherisher of Mankind,

114:1 SAY: "I seek refuge with the Sustainer of men,

114:1 Say: “I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind,”;

Surah 114:2             مَلِكِ النَّاسِ

What is for you, the mental confusion?

114:2 The King of mankind.

114:2 "The King of the people.

114:2 The King of mankind,

114:2 The King (or Ruler) of Mankind,

114:2 "the Sovereign of men,

114:2 “The King of mankind,”;

Surah 114:3             إِلَهِ النَّاسِ

A deity for adoration and worship is the mental confusion.

114:3 The God of mankind.

114:3 "The god of the people.

114:3 The God of mankind,

114:3 The god (or judge) of Mankind,-

114:3 "the God of men,

114:3 “The god of mankind,”;

Surah 114:4             مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ

This mental confusion is, what makes one exceed due limits, so a wrongdoer, unjust, corrupt and wicked.  This is the reason for one to go backwards and be held behind; just like a minds whisper, prompting that which is vain, unprofitable and destitute of good.

114:4 From the evil of the whispering desires that leaves in utter dejection.

114:4 "From the evils of sneaky whisperers.

114:4 From the evil of the sneaking whisperer,

114:4 From the mischief of the Whisperer (of Evil), who withdraws (after his whisper),-

114:4 "from the evil of the whispering, elusive tempter

114:4 “From the evil of the sneaking whisperer,”;

Surah 114:5             الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ

Whomever falls back into melancholia, prompting that which is vain, unprofitable and destitute of good, is just like those, who returned back to the mental confusion.

114:5 That whispers in the hearts of people.

114:5 "Who whisper into the chests of the people.

114:5 Who whispereth in the hearts of mankind,

114:5 (The same) who whispers into the hearts of Mankind,-

114:5 "who whispers in the hearts of men

114:5 “Who whispers into the chests of mankind,”;

Surah 114:6             مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَ النَّاسِ

These are the ones among you concealing and veiling from their senses, these facts and hence, are in the mental confusion.

114:6 (And) from the hidden psyche that rationalizes the evil, as well as the temptations that come from people.”

114:6 "Be they of the jinns, or the people."

114:6 Of the jinn and of mankind.

114:6 Among Jinns and among men.

114:6 "from all [temptation to evil by] invisible forces as well as men,"

114:6 “From among the Jinn and mankind.”;
